Brief Concept About Hemorrhoids | Articles Directory

What is Haemorhoids?

Compression of radicles of rectal veins within the anal canal is called Hemorrhoids. The medical term for piles is hemorrhoids.Compared to arteries veins are not strong due to thin walls and hence any backpressure in the veins can make them misleading. There are three rectal veins namely superior, middle and inferior rectal veins. Any obstructions or addition of pressure in these veins can predispose Hemorrhoids.

Depending upon the situation there are two types of piles.

1) External Hemroids. 2) Internal Hemroids.

1) External Piles:-

This type of piles is seen outside the anal opening and is covered by skin.It is black or brown in colour. This type of piles is very afflictionful due to rich nerve supply in this area.

2) Internal Haemorhoids:-

It is inside the anal canal and internal to the anal orifice. It is covered by mucous membrane and is red or purple in colour. These Haemorhoids are afflictionless.

Some times internal and external Hemroids occure in same individual.

Factors responsible for Haemorhoids:?

1) This is a familial disease.

2) Hemorrhoids is seen only in animals maintain an erect posture. This is due to congestion in the rectal veins due to the effect of gravity.

3) It is common in individuals having chronic constipation. Those who have a habit of visiting the toilet due to frequent urge for stool may develop piles in future.

4) Haemorhoids is common in those who take excess of chicken, prawns, spicy food ect. Those who take vegetables and fibrous food are rarely affected.

5) Some ladies get Hemorrhoids during pregnancy due to compression of rectal veins by the uterus.

6) Cancerous lesions in the rectum can obstruct blood flow and result in piles.

Signs and symptoms of piles:?

1) Sickness:-

is common in external piles which will be worse while straining at stool.

2) Bleeding:-

Bleeding comes in splashes while pressing for stool. Bleeding may be profuse in some cases.

3) Protruding mass:-

In external Haemorhoids the swelling can be felt around the anal orifice. In case of internal Hemorrhoids initially it can not be felt. When the disease progresses the Hemorrhoids protrude during stool and will go inside automatically. When the condition becomes worse the protruded Hemorrhoids will not go back in to the anus.

4) In some cases there will be discharge of mucus with itching around the anal orifice.

Complications of Hemroids:?

1,Infection: The infection can spread to deep veins resulting in septicaemia.
2,Fibrosis: Here the piles become fibrosed with hardening of anal orifice.
3,Thrombosis: Here the blood inside the piles will form clots and can obstruct blood flow.
4,Gangrene: Here the tissues in the Hemorrhoids and nearby skin die due to lack of blood supply.
5,Suppuration: When the Haemorhoids suppurate it can produce abscess with discharge of pus.

Medical care of Hemroids:?

Initially it is treated on the basis of symptoms.Constipation should be treated. If there is anaemia iron should be give. Homoeopathic medicines can give unexceptional results. If medicinal cure is not giving any result the following can be tried.

1) The thrombosed external pile is excised under local anaesthesia.

2) Sclerosant injection therapy can reduce the size of Haemorhoids.

3) Rubber band ligation around the neck of Hemorrhoids is useful in some cases.

4) Cryosurgery is very dynamic.

5) Anal decrease can reduce constipation and irritation.

6) Haemorrhoidectomy is the surgical removal of Haemorhoids.

How to prevent Hemorrhoids?

1) Eat much of fruits and vegetables.

2) Take fibrous food.

3) Skip excess intake of meat, prawns, crabs ect.

4) Keep a regular timing for food.

6) Drink sufficient volume of water.

7) Keep a regularity in bowel habits.

8) Take medical care for constipation.

Myanmar hopes for U.S. sanctions move to boost economy

NAYPYITAW, Myanmar (Reuters) – A further lifting of U.S. sanctions on Myanmar, which could come during a visit by officials to Washington this week, would be crucial to opening its long-isolated economy, a senior Myanmar government official said.

Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin meets U.S. officials on Thursday, stoking expectation the United States might announce a further lifting or suspension of sanctions, including investment restrictions, on the country that is also known as Burma.

It is the first official visit by a Myanmar minister to the United States in decades.

“The sanctions are a big problem,” Tint Thwin, deputy director general in Myanmar’s Commerce Ministry, told Reuters. “If they are lifted there would be an immediate impact.”

“The U.S. government sanctions bar bank transactions in U.S. dollars. That is a major problem for us. If they lift the sanctions, we can easily transfer money, so our private sector can grow, invest and do business and immediately increase our prospects.”

The comments illustrate a paradox following the most sweeping reforms in the former British colony since a 1962 coup, when it was known as Burma. Many multinational companies are clamoring to invest following its rapprochement with the United States and Europe, but U.S. sanctions remain big barriers.

Washington’s sanctions are the tightest imposed on the former junta by Western powers, banning new investment in the country and imports as well as restricting financial transactions and freezing the assets of financial institutions and top government officials.

Since the measures are covered by five federal laws and four presidential executive orders, removing them is complicated.

However, some have been softened.

“LEVERAGE”

In February, Washington announced a waiver of restrictions so that it could support assessment missions and technical assistance by international financial institutions such as the World Bank. In April, the Treasury authorized financial transactions for a range of non-profit projects.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on April 4 the United States was beginning the process of a targeted easing of its ban on the export of U.S. financial services and investment “as part of a broader effort to help accelerate economic modernization”. She gave no time frame.

Patrick Murphy, the State Department’s deputy special representative for Myanmar, also said on May 11 that Washington was looking at easing more sanctions and that it was likely to appoint a U.S. ambassador in coming weeks. The restoration of full diplomatic links was announced in January.

U.S. Republican Senator John McCain, who has visited Myanmar twice in the past year, said earlier this week that most U.S. sanctions on Myanmar should be suspended.

But he said it was critical to ensure U.S. investment benefited the private sector and the country’s people rather than doing the opposite of entrenching a new oligarchy, which could set back Myanmar’s development for decades.

“For this reason, I am not convinced that American companies should be permitted to do business at this time with state-owned firms in Burma that are still dominated by the military,” he said in a speech to the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “They should align themselves with Aung San Suu Kyi and the Burmese people.”

The case for easing sanctions was bolstered by by-elections in April that were deemed free and fair. Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel laureate who led the fight for democracy for more than two decades, was among those elected to parliament.

Suu Kyi told an American audience on Tuesday she was “not against” the suspension of sanctions and preferred that to the outright removal of the punitive measures at this point.

Suspending sanctions was a way of sending a strong message of support for reforms while retaining leverage, she told a Washington meeting via a video link.

Continually many new technologies are entering the market to help web users as well as the Indian Jomla web designers and developers.

Joomla is one of the most diverse of the web technologies that have been gaining popularity these days. Joomla is a very popular content management system (CMS) that helps in web design, providing with all the necessary tools with the help of which the process is made very simple. It enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications.

Many aspects have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone. It facilitates you with several features that make it stand out of all when compared with all other tools. It was introduced in 2000; Joomla has become respected by the majority of companies in India as a very well-organized Content Management System.

With this program a number of different types of websites can be created and by utilizing extensions and mini-applications, you can also add various website capabilities. Joomla is utilized to restrain data as well as all the contents of a website, and the CMS is instrumental in combining the text with the template of the website to create web pages as is the case with all the other Content Management Systems.

Indian firms engaged in designing websites are utilizing Joomla and then transfer the work to the professional websites. People who are new in using Joomla and Content Management Systems are very grateful for its user-friendly information. It is very easy to customize due to the number of developers and designers creating tools that are simple to understand.

Due to the versatility in the development process and ease of customization the developers are also likely to choose this platform. Although they cannot modify the original code the new framework for MVC has been created and developed so that it is possible for anyone with the information to override the heart of the CMS. Joomla needs the capability for the generation of multi-sites. It is sufficiently widespread to be practical, still insufficient for everything.

Pros and Cons

Joomla is user friendly for users on all levels, including designers, developers and administrators. There is a large community of Joomla that has been outstanding in assisting with the website creation. The program has been rapidly growing and improving.

Joomla is still not sufficiently user-friendly for everyone to understand. Joomla is not as powerful as Drupal. When starting out Joomla can be somewhat confusing. A number of users are continuing to utilize the older versions as the entire program was recently totally revamped.

Military trainer jet crashes in Calif., 1 dead

(AP) ? A privately owned training jet on contract to the military crashed Friday in Southern California, killing the civilian pilot, authorities said.

The Hawker Hunter jet trainer went down near Naval Base Ventura County, fire department spokesman Steve Swindle said. The pilot was the only person aboard.

The high-performance military-style aircraft took off from the base on a training sortie with another plane and went down as it was returning, about two miles from the runway in the middle of a farm field.

“He was on final approach. He went down,” Swindle said. He said the sky in the area was “bright and crystal clear.”

The farm field where the plane crashed is between Point Mugu State Park, Camarillo Airport, and the Naval base, some 50 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

There were no injuries on the ground and no reports of a fire, Swindle said. He did not yet know the extent of the damage.

Naval and fire personnel were on the scene at the crash and investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were on their way. An FAA spokesman referred all questions to the military, and a phone message left for a Navy spokesman was not immediately returned.

The Hawker Hunter was owned by Airborne Tactical Advantage Co. of Newport News, Va., known as ATAC. It provides aerial training to the military, including the Navy’s elite Fighter Weapons School.

Matt “Race” Bannon, director of business development for ATAC, confirmed that the pilot was also from the company, but would not identify him or give any details until relatives were notified.

“Our concern right now is with the family,” Bannon said.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known. “I won’t even speculate as to anything,” Bannon said.

Following company procedure after accidents, ATAC was immediately halting all its flights.

On March 6, one of the company’s Israeli-built F-21 Kfir jets crashed into a building at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nev., killing the pilot. ATAC said at the time that although the investigation was continuing, there was no question that erratic and severe weather that had not been forecast contributed to the accident.

Friday’s crash occurred on the first anniversary of the crash of a commercial aerial refueling tanker during takeoff from the Ventura base’s air station at Point Mugu. All three crewmembers escaped on May 18, 2011, before fire destroyed the Boeing 707 registered to Omega Air Inc. of San Antonio, Texas.

Spotlight on Asian art as Hong Kong fair opens

The glittering Hong Kong International Art Fair opened Thursday, featuring works by artists from Picasso to Chinese dissident Ai Weiwei and cementing the city’s status as a global art hub.

More than 260 galleries from 38 countries, representing an even split from the West and the East, have booked space at the four-day event known as Art HK, now in its fifth edition.

“The transformation here culturally has been pretty significant,” art collector and fair board member Richard Chang told reporters ahead of the opening, referring to Hong Kong‘s emergence as a centre of the Asian art world.

“It’s testament to what is happening in this region and it’s very exciting.”

A record 63,511 visitors attended Art HK last year, and organisers expect a bigger crowd in 2012. The prestigious Frieze New York fair earlier this month attracted a reported 45,000 visitors.

A Wednesday night preview drew thousands of VIPs who had first pick of works including Ai’s “Cong”, a chilling installation about child deaths in the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, a Sherrie Levine cast bronze called “Dada”, and a fresh-off-the-easel 2012 portrait in oil of Lady Gaga by Yan Pei-Ming.

Director Magnus Renfrew said there had been a marked increase in interest from Western dealers.

“The art market tends to follow the money and the greatest source of wealth at the moment is in Asia,” he said.

Traditionally known as a centre of banking and finance, Hong Kong has become a hub of all things luxury — from fine wine to fashion and, increasingly, art — thanks to the explosion of personal wealth among mainland Chinese.

Western gallery owners are rushing to open franchises in the former British colony, despite some of the most expensive rents in the world.

Gagosian, White Cube, Acquavella, Simon Lee and Pearl Lam are just some of the recent arrivals. The government is also weighing in, with a massive art and culture district being developed on the harbour in Kowloon.

“If you look at the calibre of some of the exhibitions this year, it’s a top-tier fair now,” London-based Australian gallery owner Simon Lee told AFP.

He said his “boutique-type offering” was more about making contacts and introducing his gallery to the Asian market than selling art to collectors.

“I can’t hope to just come over here, plonk a few things on a booth and think it’s all going to happen. It’s sort of condescending to think it will all happen without doing the ground work,” he said.

Asian private museum owners, such as Indonesian tobacco baron Oei Hong Djin whose OHD Museum is a de facto national gallery, were also well represented as they hunted additions for their collections.

“We do not have a national museum and the government is not taking steps in the direction, so we as private collectors have to take over that role,” he said, referring to his homeland of 240 million people.

Asia’s art boom has caught the eye of the world’s biggest art fair franchise, Art Basel, which bought a controlling stake in Art HK a year ago. The Hong Kong fair’s 2013 edition will be held under the Art Basel banner.

Meanwhile a new art fair devoted to “affordable” contemporary art will be held in Hong Kong next year, confirming the city’s new status as a hot ticket on the art scene.

The fair is being put together by Affordable Art China, a company which has organised a similar event in Beijing since 2006 and is opening a new franchise in Shanghai later this year.

Chief executive Tom Pattinson said the new fair offered a chance for smaller galleries and emerging artists to showcase their work in the booming art market of Hong Kong, now third only to New York and London in terms of art auctions.

“The success of the events in mainland China has demonstrated the demand for accessible contemporary fine art in the region and Hong Kong is now a major focus for us as we launch our first event in this territory,” he said.

He said the value of the “affordable art” market — pieces priced at less than $5,000 — in China was estimated at $1.1 billion a year, and was doubling annually.

Renfrew said the new fair was not a threat to Art HK, which is held at the city’s vast harbourside convention centre, as the two events catered to “very different audiences”.

“There are now more billionaires in Asia than there are in Europe, so it’s a very exciting time for the art market here,” he said.

“It takes time to build an audience in Asia but the galleries are increasingly seeing that they have to diversify their audience and put in that investment and time.”

Art fairs and auctions around the world have seen giddy bidding despite, or perhaps because of, the turmoil in the eurozone and on the world’s stock markets, as investors look for other places to park their money.

At Sotheby’s impressionist and modern sale in New York earlier this month, the only privately owned version of Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” went for $119.9 million, the most ever paid for any art work at public auction.

Guys have the edge going into ‘Idol’ finale

By Craig Berman, TODAY.com contributor

Michael Becker / FOX

Will Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez or Joshua Ledet get cut? It’s hard to tell this season who’ll make the final two.

In most years, the penultimate week of ?American Idol? serves to finally eliminate the interloper, the singer who?s clearly at a disadvantage compared to the top two. Last year it was Haley Reinhart, whose exit paved the way for the Scotty McCreery-Lauren Alaina finale that everyone expected, and Casey James ceded the floor to Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox in season nine. (Hey, it made sense at the time.) In most other ?Idol? seasons, by the time we got to the middle of May, everyone knew who the two favorites were.

That?s not true in season 11. And while a gambler would probably lay the odds on a Joshua Ledet-Phillip Phillips final with Jessica Sanchez going home Thursday, there?s a legitimate case to be made that any of the remaining contestants could be in danger this week.

Phillip got the most criticism of anyone on Wednesday, as nobody liked the song he chose for himself (Matchbox 20?s ?Disease?). But that was only one of his three performances, and when he closed the show strong with Jimmy Iovine?s pick, Bob Seger’s ?We?ve Got Tonight,??he came through with best individual effort of the evening. He?s the only one of the remaining finalists who has never been revealed as one of the lowest vote-getters, so he?s the best individual bet to keep going.

In sharp contrast to Phillip?s easy road to the final three, Joshua nearly didn?t even make it out of the first week. Imagine how different this season would have gone had he been eliminated back in March instead of Jeremy Rosado. Joshua was again in the bottom three when there were seven contestants remaining, but he?s been the strongest of anyone since that latter scare. He seemed to be the favorite of the judges (again) on Wednesday, even if his final song of the night –?Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama” — was a bit over-the-top in its frenzy.

And speaking of struggling, the same week in April that Joshua was in the bottom three, Jessica would have been eliminated had the judges not used their save on her. She?s sailed through the past month since then, but this wasn?t her best week. None of her solos?stood out, and she was the lone finalist to not get a standing ovation from the judges.

If Phillip and Joshua do make it to the finale, they will both owe an assist to Jimmy. The mentor is the one who picked ?We?ve Got Tonight? for Phillip, as well as prodding Joshua to go with Blige?s tune ? the only one of Joshua?s three songs that wasn?t at least 35 years old.

For Jessica? He picked ?I?ll Be There? by the Jackson 5, an attempt to make her sound younger. It didn?t work because she literally can?t make herself sound her age. She?s an old singing soul in a young body, like it or not.

Also noteworthy was that Phillip got credit for a ?moment? with his final number, though that might have been for the distracting way he was petting his leg with his left hand as much as it was for his vocals. He also earned an ?in it to win it? from Randy Jackson for the last effort.

Meanwhile, Jessica had to content herself with an endorsement from the last-place San Diego Padres. The last ?Idol? finalist to be touted by a sports team having a mediocre year was Hollie Cavanagh, who got support from Liverpool’s English Premier League (that?s soccer, for the non-sports fans). That didn?t seem to help her much.

Then again, Steven Tyler did insinuate early in the show that he expected Jessica to win. So who knows? Unlike most years, it?s truly anybody?s competition with just one week remaining.

Who do you think will get cut Thursday? Share your prediction on our Facebook page!

But Doc, I Don't Hurt Anymore. Why Am I Still Coming In? | The Blog …

????????? If you are like most chiropractic patients, you would have never set foot in our office unless you had some symptom or symptoms which became so unbearable you could no longer ignore them.

????????? Then, we examined you and found the cause of your symptoms. In other words, we found the problem: vertebral subluxation (spinal misalignment causing nerve irritation). And in many case, we found your problem had been there many years.

So why is there such a long time between the onset of the problem and your awareness of it?

Quite frankly, your body is so well-equipped for keeping itself functioning that it often does not use its energy to warn you of small, developing problems.

Unfortunately, most diseases are a process which begins with a small, developing problem which worsens over months or years? and they go undetected until you become aware of the damage that has been done.

Consider this list of conditions which may have few or no symptoms until their end-stages

Atherosclerosis

Atrial fibrillation

Attrioventricular block

Benign prostatic hypertrophy

Breast cancer

Carcinoid syndrome

Cardiomyopathy

Cervical erosion

Cervical spondylosis

?Vertebral subluxations are often just as silent?and just as deadly, since subluxations literally interrupt the communication between your brain and body.

?Therefore, since subluxations are both silent and deadly, we want you as our patient to be committed to three goals:

1)????? Following your care plan until your subluxations are corrected (and not stopping once you?ll ?feel a little better?)

2)????? Maintaining your corrections through regular chiropractic maintenance visits and other positive health choices.

3)????? Telling others you know about getting checked for vertebral sublucation, even if they have no symptoms.
